Watching the snow fall

I've been resting a lot this week, not feeling well. The other day, the snow started to fall and I opened the living room curtains to watch. It was very quiet. It brought me a lot of peace, which was much needed!

Visiting our deer friends

Last Sunday, my husband and I took a drive and saw about 40 beautiful deer over by the state hospital. Today we returned around the same time and I took lots of photos with my zoom lens so as not to disturb them. Most of them were very close to our car, though. Many of them walked right next to or in front of us. It was so quiet and peaceful in the snow!

A snowy night with my girl

This photo is actually from tonight, but I had to share it with this week's Simple Things Sunday group (on this site). My little sister (who is 13 years younger than me) is visiting for 3 weeks for an early 16th birthday present. Tonight we're getting some snow and she was so excited to see it! She stayed outside for a few minutes trying to catch it and reveling in it. It was adorable.

It's a very rainy Sunday. We went for our Sunday drive just to enjoy the fresh, rainy air!

Inspired by this sweet blogger, I'm going to start posting a picture each Sunday of something that made me happy during the week. Today's picture was taken this afternoon at a local park. You'd think these ducks would want to go somewhere even warmer for the winter! It's in the 30s today.

As ready as I am for spring, there is something beautiful about a snowy morning.

Winter lake

It's usually pretty blah around here in winter when there's no snow. But the lake still looked beautiful the other day when we went for a drive.

Light

Light is really what makes a picture, you know? Good lighting can make an otherwise drab picture look amazing. Driving to my husband's work the other day, I saw the clouds and sun make this neat scene. And of course I took a picture. :)

I think our snow is being stolen

by other parts of the country. We've hardly had any this year! But we got a little today, and it actually stuck.

In Provo Canyon. I loved this plaque. And although there's nothing amazing about this landscape, I thought it was quite pretty.

Bridal Veil Falls- Provo Canyon

There's just nothing very pretty in town right now! The fresh snow is now a couple of days old and melting. So I drove up the canyon and tried to get a few pretty pictures of Bridal Veil and the mountains. Winter can be pretty in its own way!

Bare branches- hurry, spring!

Winter only gets so interesting. Without fresh snowfall, I have to do something to keep my trigger finger happy. So here you go. The definition of winter: bare branches and old, graying snow.
